ColTech Color Sensor - OVERVIEW
by In-Situ
Organic materials such as Humic Acid or metals like Iron and Manganese dissolved in water will appear as an unacceptable yellow tinge. Allowing discolored water to enter the water supply network will quickly bring customers' attention to the issue. The ColTech Color Sensor is made to check the visible color in situations where a general color reading is needed. It cleans itself and is best used at the start of drinking water treatment, allowing for automatic control of coagulants without needing complicated equipment. It can be installed outside.
RELIABLE MONITORING
The ColTech Color Sensor can tolerate turbidity levels of up to 100 NTU and has a maximum depth of 100 meters.
The light from the UV/blue LED shines through a water sample in the measurement cell, and then a check is done for how much light is absorbed at 375 nm. The absorption is compared to a standard solution during calibration or a lab test to convert it into Hazen units.
LOW COST OF OWNERSHIP
The ColTech Color Sensor is low maintenance and doesn’t require special tools or training to use.
Calibration against either a wet standard or using a reference standard.
The flow cell type sensor includes an integral wiper cleaning system that requires replacement annually.
