TEK-SUB 4800A SERIES PTFE SUBMERSIBLE LEVEL TRANSMITTER - OVERVIEW

TEK-SUB 4800A SERIES PTFE SUBMERSIBLE LEVEL TRANSMITTER - OVERVIEW
by Tek-Trol

Designed for continuous submersion in aggressive fluids, it uses a rugged ceramic pressure sensor encased in PTFE (aka Teflon) housing that provides excellent corrosion resistance in most fluids. You have the choice of two internal O-ring seals, made of either FKM (aka Viton) for applications below 200°C or FFKM (Perfluoroelastomer) for applications from 200°C up to 325°C/617°F, with the FFKM seals offering improved chemical resistance with nearly universal chemical compatibility.

The sensor facilitates simple installation, easy cleaning, and years of trouble-free service with almost no maintenance. The device guarantees stability and reliability in harsh environments. The Tek-Sub 4800A operates on 12-36 VDC power, with available outputs of 4-20 mA, 0.5-4.5 VDC, or RS-485.

Wetted Materials:

  • Ceramic pressure sensor design with PTFE (Teflon) housing
  • Choice of O'Ring seals:
    • FKM:  Fluorinated, carbon-based synthetic rubber, commonly known as fluoroelastomer. Its impressive heat resistance allows FKM seals to withstand temperatures greater than 200°C. FKM also exhibits extraordinary levels of resistance to high pressures, chemicals, and other fluids – including several fuels.
    • FFKM:  Perfluoroelastomer, contains higher amounts of fluorine than standard FKM, resulting in higher temperature ratings (up to approximately 325°C/617°F) and improved chemical resistance with nearly universal chemical compatibility. This combination of high-performance capabilities makes FFKM seals the premium choice for industry’s most demanding applications.
  • Fully Submersible (IP68)
  • Corrosion Resistant
Sensor Performance:
  • Long-term stability is ±0.2% FS/year (typ.), ±0.3% FS/year (max.)
  • Measuring pressure ranges from 2.8 psi to 15 psi.
  • Accuracy is ±0.5% F.S.
