Bimetal thermometers are simple and robust in design, fully mechanical, and do not require any power source. They are easy to install and maintain and have a nearly linear response to temperature change making them suitable for wide temperature measurement ranges (as low as -100C and up to 550C). Please be aware that where the process media may be corrosive or contained under pressure, a thermowell is required, which prevents damage to the thermometer and facilitates its removal from the process.
